In an effort to capture and highlight the accomplishments of the St. Peter's Façade and Streetscape Program, the Strait-Highlands RDA worked with St. Peter's Economic Development Organization, St. Peter's businesses, project funders and Telile Community Television to produce a seven minute video that communicates the significance of the community core development initiative. The video was first featured at the Village On the Canal (VOCA) Business dinner held May 5th and is now available here and on the Strait-Highlands RDA You Tube Channel.
The Strait-Highlands RDA has partnered with The St. Peter's Economic Development Organization to create an ambitious planning strategy that proposes spending an estimated $8 million to give the village a facelift over the next three decades.
S-HRDA and SPEDO hosted an Open House at the St. Peter's Fire Hall on Thursday, May 1st to give the public a look at the new plan. The Plan includes a Main Street program and was developed by Ekistics Planning a Design of Dartmouth. The strategy is rooted in the Village's traditional attributes and focuses on commercial and "green" developments that would allow the Village to double in size over the next 30 years.
The steering committee moving this plan forward is committed to ensuring that input and decision making remains locally grounded to ensure that this plan works for the residents of St. Peter's.
