YMCA is pleased to announce new Youth Eco Internship Program!
The YMCA is pleased to announce the launch of the Youth Eco Internship Program. This national program places people aged 15 to 30 from diverse backgrounds into paid internship opportunities. These internships are within the non-profit sector with a focus on the environment. Positions will help young Canadians learn the skills required to gain and sustain future employment within the sector.
The YMCA’s Youth Eco Internship Program, funded by the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan, provides eco-focused internships ranging from 3-12 months. The program is offered nationally and interested hosts and youth interns can learn more or apply through the website: www.yeip.ca (English) or www.pesj.ca (French).
“This is an exciting program.” says Angela de Burger, National Manager of the YMCA’s Youth Eco Internship Program. “The Youth Eco Internship Program will provide non-profit groups the ability to increase the impact they make on their communities. Additionally, over 650 new opportunities are being created for Canadian youth to build skills and experience in the non-profit and environmental sectors”.
Applications are being accepted now and can be completed online or via email. For more information, please visit the website or call 1-877-668-7602.
